Day 14- Ana to Brunei

Yesterday night myself and sastha had a long conversation of what he should learn......

after the talk -... jotted down some action points.....

Sastha - To Do

1. Kuthu Katalam Vanga - Scan and take it to sash page

2. Kancheepuram - Kuthu - Check contacts - enquire for sat / sun class

3. Pottery - Classes check in Chennai - Mannu velai - Paanai to do 

4. Skating classes

5. Drum Classes

6. Swimming Classes

7. Paatu Class - Karnatic

8. To teach - Cycling self - before 4 he should learn cycling......

9. Vivasayam - Learn about farming - growing cattle , growing crops - seasons - crop pests - etc., 

10. Learn Yoga and Ayurvedic practices

Areas of learning

Music - Singing (Karnatic), Instrument (Drums), Kalai - Kuthu

Art - Painting, Photography

Action / Sports - Swimming / skating

Approach 

- Teach sastha about the art forms in kuthu - Like kathakali - let him be familiar about visual forms that are available ......

- Teach him about all types of clay - blue pottery 

Logic

- Teach him about the past - old skills that people have neglected and left

- Let him learn and master the old skills, new skills - he will any way learn from his piers and in school.

- He has to create a bridge and take these old skills to newer levels - look at the future

Time planning

- Saturday and Sunday - he has to spend time in villages near by learning - Kuthu, pottery, vivasayam

- Mon to Fri - before school - he has to learn Skating and Swimming

- Mon to Fri - After school - he has to learn Music and Drums

- Arts and Photography - as we (ana and Ramesh) - do he learns along with us.

Before Sastha is 6 yrs, he should atlas have a basic foundation of the above skill sets.

WHY

I want to teach sastha the skills and make him routed to the art forms that are vanishing and people are not interested 

Day 9- Ana to Brunei

Yesterday Sunday, myself and Sastha got up at 5.00 AM.

Sastha told me, appa - i will sleep, but you wake me up - I want to come along with you to see sunrise, take photos and play in the beach.

Got up at 5.00, ready took camera and beach set - left home at 5:30 to besant nagar beach.

Took some good photos, when sastha was playing. But sun was not there, very cloudy.

Both of us had tendercoconut, enjoyed, talked a lot .......

On way back, went to Sangeetha - I had pongal, Sastha had poori.

Day 7- Ana to Brunei

Sastha slept with his grand parents yesterday ... Saturday holiday....

Yesterday took Farm animals book to school ... did not bring the book back... Ammama was very worried.

Ana leaving to rain forest yesterday, chatted with her for a long time. Ana take care .... we are there with you...

Was playing with Sastha in morning, Saravanan from Appaswamy came home, Sastha threw all the sofa cushions from its place and did not allow us to sit or talk.

After they left, told strictly to Sastha that what he was doing is not right. Then took photos of Sastha

Sastha came to office, played in office, had vegetable rice brought by Sumathi. Took him back to home at 1:30.

Day 3- Ana to Brunei

Sastha was much better after yesterday talking with Ana.....

He did not go to school on tuesday .... slept at hme in afternoon, and got up at 6:30 only. Then he was slightly restless. I went at 7.00 to hme, be told that his head is paining, asked why - told he pushed the sofa with his head so it was paining.... then made him to settle down, watch some cartoon .... and played Ipad...

Ana called - Sastha cried and told that he is missing Amma,.. But he managed and listened to Ana ... asked her when you will return back ... and Ana tried explaining that she will be back soon.. and got camera and construction blocks for him... he did not listen to all that and wanted to see Amma.... then after Ana spoke told bye, take care , do good be good.......

Day 2- Ana to Brunei

Sastha had slight fever - went to school and back, on way back showed him to muthusamy doc.
He should be fine....

Just spoke with ana parents - Sastha slept and got up at 5.00 PM, is having complan. I will leave early to home today to play with Sastha......

Informed ana through chat ..... She became very worried ..... everything should be fine .. soonn...

Day 1- Ana to Brunei

16 Jul - Saturday  - Left Ana after baggage checkin in the airport at 3:30, went to second floor - visitor lounge and waited, called Ana at 4.00 to check if every thing is fine, she had completed her formalities and sitting to board the flight. Started from airport at 4.20, came by train till Guindy, share auto to Ekkaduthangal, came to office at 5:10.
Called Ana - she had boarded the flight and called at 5:30PM. Flight started at 5:50PM.

16 Jul - Sat - 10PM : SMS from Ana reached Malaysia
17 Jul - Sun - 4AM : SMS from Ana " Starting from Malysia, 3:30 hrs 2 Brunei"
17 Jul - Sun - 7AM : SMS from Ana " Reached Brunei"
17 Jul - Sun - 8:20AM : SMS from Ana "Reached to University, Good one"

July 2011

The month of July 2011, has been a very different and newer environment to all of us in our family. Sastha is at-most enjoying the transition and is also most affected, for no fault of his.

There has been several events happening in a short duration.
- Change in house from IIT to Trents
- Going to new school - Harishree
- Going to day care
- Going to after school

All new environments, he is taking everything very well.
